  • IGI User Meeting 2018

    The IGI User Meeting 2018 was a great success, attracting participants from around the globe. Innovations and sensor integration were on display next to the 3D city model of Frankfurt captured by IGI UrbanMapper, and also different case studies were presented by IGI customers.

  • European R&D project AMTEG

    European R&D project AMTEG

    In May 2018 at IGI started a European research project jointly with SUPRACON, the  Leibniz-Institute of Photonic Technology and the European partners Geognosia S.L. and Nordic Iron Ore AB.

    The aim of AMTEG (Advanced Magnetic full Tensor Gradiometer) is a new airborne magnetic exploration tool using a full tensor magnetic gradiometer, a 3D-vector magnetometer and an ancillary optically pumped magnetometer for absolute measurements. 

    IGI contributes in this project with the development of an inertial measuring unit and positioning system suitable for the demanding requirements with respect to motion noise reduction critical for achieving ultimate sensitivity.

    IGI also provides mission planning software and guidance system for VFR flights with terrain following display function in low altitude and creates digital terrain elevation models required in the project.

    The performance will be evaluated in representative European mining areas. The project is funded by BMBF (033RU001A), CDTI and VINNOVA with co-funding by the European Commission via its ERA-Net frame ERA-MIN 2.
